PHOTOS: Severe storms pelt Central Texas with large hail

ASAN (KXAN) – Severe storms were thrown on the golf ball and the size of the baseball across the center of Texas Thursday evening.

Several severe warnings of thunderstorms were issued in The Hill Country and in the southern Austin. Storms also paid changes to graduation ceremonies from local secondary schools.

KXan viewers from all over the area sent in pictures of large clouds and nails.

The clouds of mammatus look like blocks or bags on the underside of the cloud, and it is usually a thunderstorm. It is formed when the cold air is drowned in the dry air, and it forms small pockets or bags, usually when a thunderstorm is delayed in development or begins to collapse.
