Oakland firefighters save woman wedged between buildings

(Crohn)-Firefighters saved a woman stuck in a 20-inch gap between two buildings near the intersection of 23 Street and an international street in Auckland on Sunday.

Captain Brian Kelly, the Oakland Ministry of Fire, told Kron4 that firefighters responded to the area at 11:03 am after receiving a call about a besieged person between two buildings, screaming for help. The firefighters arrived and found that the woman clinging to an external piece of plumbing 15 feet from the ground.

The narrow space prevented firefighters from obtaining a fire ladder to the woman. To complete the rescue, the firefighters falsified the rope system and reduced it to safety.

“She was afraid of moving,” Kelly said. “The only safe way to drop it is to attach the rope rescue system with it.”

Kelly said that the woman was free from space at approximately 11:50 am, perhaps she was suffering from the issue of mental health, but firefighters are not sure how they were stumbling. She did not need any medical treatment and was released from the scene.
