Usha Vance will visit Greenland as President Donald Trump talks up US takeover

Denmark’s chief spokesman for Denmark said that the Danish police sent additional employees and Snifer dogs to Greenland, while the ice island exceeded security measures before a planned visit this week by the second lady, Osha Vance.

René Giedenston said on Monday that the additional officers, who were deployed on the previous day, were part of the regular steps taken during visits from her personalities to Greenland, a harsh area of the American ally.

Quoting office procedures, Gyldensten refused to specify the number of additional police transferred on the rented trip. News reports set the number in dozens of officers.

Vans’s visit comes at a time when President Donald Trump suggested that the United States take control of Greenland.

Greenland News Outlet Sermitsiaq has released pictures of two military planes from Hercules in the United States on the runway on Sunday in Nok, adding that the planes left later.

A statement from her office said that Vans will leave on Thursday and return on Saturday. She and one of her three children will be part of an American delegation “will visit historical sites” and “recognize the green heritage”.

On her visit, Vans will attend the Avanata Qimusseru, the National Dogs Greenland Race, with about 37 Mushers and 444 Dog. The statement said that Vans and the American delegation “are excited to see this huge race and celebrate culture and green unity.”

The media in Greenland and Denmark reported that Vans will be accompanied by Trump’s national security advisor, Mike Walz. The White House and the National Security Council immediately did not respond to the requests for comment.

The Prime Minister of Greenland said that the only purpose of this visit is to show power, ABC News said.

During his first term, Trump had thought about buying the largest island in the world, even when Denmark, an ally of NATO, insisted that he was not for sale. Greenland also rejected Trump’s plans firmly.

Since his return to the White House, Trump has repeatedly said that the United States will come to control Greenland while insisting that he supports the idea for strategic national security reasons – not with American expansion.
