4-year-old boy in critical condition after shot at Aurora home: police

KDVR-A young boy suffers from life-threatening injuries after he was shot at his home in Aurora on Monday morning.

The Aurora Police Administration said before 10:30 am, it responded to the Caiser Bermelmante Medical offices after a 4 -year -old child was shot in a residential complex off East Centrepoint Drive in Aurora.

The mother told the police that she had heard at home, when she found her son. Police said they took the boy to urgent care on the street before being transferred to the local children’s hospital, who is currently in critical condition.

The grandmother, who was also at home, was transferred to the hospital for a medical accident, although the police said they had not shot it.

During the preliminary investigation, the police said they did not believe that a shot was self, and that someone at home might have been playing with a pistol when they shot the child. At the time of the shooting, the police said that there are many people at home, including three children and the father of the boy who was shot.

The father left the house after the shooting, and the police are currently looking to collect more information about his involvement and why he left. The police believe that the child is currently with the father, but the father is not currently suspected.

The shooting is still being investigated. Police said they were getting an order to search at home and search for more evidence.

The officers still secure the scene, and the crime scene investigators, as well as investigators who suffer from crimes against children and investigators in the main crime unit, will be at the scene.

Police said that the shooting still could be a crime depending on the conditions before the shooting, if anyone at home is prohibited from obtaining firearms and if the firearm is stored.
