4 injured in VTA train collision with box truck

(Krona) – Four people were injured after a vehicle collided on Thursday afternoon, which included a light railway train in the Santa Clara Valley (VTA).

VTA was providing bus bridge service for passengers affected by the accident. Shortly from 6:50 pm, the Obour Agency announced that the regular light railway service was restored between River Oaks and Gesh in both directions.

SJPD said that the officers responded to the accident at 4:27 pm in the Charcot and First Streets area to find a truck shocked by the VTA train. According to VTA, the driver tried to move to the left when the train was moving, and collided with each other.

Police said the truck driver was transferred to a nearly life -threatening hospital. Three passengers were also transferred from the VTA-who were confirmed as his connection and two passengers-to a life-threatening local hospital.

“In order to remove the truck from the tracks in First Street, we have to close the top of the upper train so that the bus bridge from River Oaks has been extended to Gish.”

The road has been cleared since then.

The collision is still under investigation.
