29 arrested in Southern California retail theft bust operation

Twenty -nine suspects were arrested during a statue of the huge theft in San Bernardino Province.

An nearly two weeks was performed from May 3 to 16 and focused on the Victoria Gardens Mall in Rancho Kokamonga.

Officers of multiple agencies cooperated in this effort. During the operation, 29 suspects – 15 of the arrest of a felony and 14 were misdemeanors. The authorities also regained about $ 4,402 of stolen goods.

In November 2023, the San Bernardino County Administration became interested in the worrying rise in theft in retail stores, which often included organized theft rings.

The authorities said: “These violent criminals are terrifying citizens of San Bernardino Province by using intimidation tactics and mobs that create an inappropriate and uncomfortable shopping environment for our residents.”

The SMASH & GRAB process focuses on the Ministry of Sherif on the shopping areas via Rancho Cucamonga, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville and Chino Hills, where deputies disable and dismantle retail theft.

“The researchers use traditional and unconventional methods to accomplish this task and reduce the scourge created by these bad actors,” explained SBSD.

Many law enforcement agencies participated in the process, including:

  • San Bernardino County Department – Gangs/Drugs Department
  • Rancho Kokamonga station
  • The monitoring department in San Bernardino Province
  • Internal security investigations
  • California highway patrol
  • San Bernardino Police Department
