24 campfires abandoned in popular forest, grassland spot over Memorial Day weekend: Forest Service

Denver (KDVR)-Firefighters found 24 abandoned camps in the National Herbal Land of PIKE-SAN ISABEL CIMARRORON and Cumanche during the weekend, according to the US Department of Agriculture Forests.

Foreign service said on Thursday that firefighters also responded to four fires throughout the forest during the weekend, with three designers to be because of humans and the result of lightning.

“Forest fires have been contained quickly, but they have been reminded that we all should do our role so that we do not let a fire in the forests,” the forest service said in a press statement.

The Federal Agency warned that “only one spark takes” in “the wrong place in a timely manner” to start forest fires that can “put human life, natural, cultural resources and infrastructure.”

The shooting of the entertainment target, the chains of clouds and the firing of abandoned camps has been distinguished.

Helps prevent forest fires

Forest service has provided many rules that forest visitors and herbal lands can adhere to to prevent forest fires, including:

  • Building camps fire in an area that was cleared of vegetation
  • Do not give up or leave a camp without observation
  • You always have a lot of water and shovel nearby
  • The camps are extinguished by drowning, stirring and repetition until the consistency of the clay and cold pie is to touch.

The agency urged any forest visitors and herbal lands who encountered the abandoned camp fire to extinguish it if possible, and if not, it is not so, to summon forests and national cimarron in Pike-SAN ISABEL and Cumanche National Grasslands at 719-533-1400.
