New details about teenage victims often from one violent car crash in Santa Anna on Sunday morning.
Natalie Garcia, Santa Anna Police Administration officer, indicated that the officers were sent to the West Sigrsome Street area and South Tanseend Street around 11:30 pm on reports of a vehicle that collided with a tree.
When they arrived at the scene, the officers discovered that there are six people – five females and one man – inside the car at the time of collision. Their initial investigation revealed that the 18 -year -old driver was traveling at high speeds west on Segerstrom and missed a turn when the accident occurred.
At least two victims were expelled from the car and the nearby black sedan was slightly damaged, but no one was in the last car.
Four of the victims were announced at the scene, while the fifth victim is fighting for their lives in a local hospital and a sixth person is listed in a “serious condition”.
Initially, the Santa Anna police stated that five victims had passed away, although in the afternoon it stated that two of them are currently in the hospital.
KTLA video clips show the accident with a large law enforcement along Segerstrom while firefighters climbed a ladder to reach the distorted car, which was damaged beyond recognition next to a tree in the middle.
Friends and family began gathering at the site of crash throughout the day, and prompted their respect for a growing memorial.
Although their identities were not officially released, those who have known them as Rachel Minitov of KTLA had told that young people, including two groups of sisters, were all friends in contact with the Valley Secondary School in Santa Anna.
Their close friends said that learning their tragic death was incredibly painful and difficult to believe.
One of the victims’ friends, who was known only as Veronica, said that she exploded in crying as she hears the tragedy.
She said, “This is because I knew them for a long time and we have passed a lot.”
Another girlfriend said she came to the crash to show her love for the victims.
“You never know how much time you can spend with someone,” her boyfriend Mary explained.
The police said that the investigation of the accident would take some time, but it says alcohol or drugs may have been a worker in the devastating accident.
