13 Mexican Mafia affiliates arrested in gang crackdown: FBI

Federal officials shouted after the arrest of 13 alleged members in a street gang in the Los Angeles port.

The FBI said in a press statement that the gang, Rancho San Pedro, is “one of the most active and violent gangs” in the region.

Aqil Davis, assistant director responsible for the FBI in Los Angeles, said the operation targeted the “high leadership” of the RSP. The charges include drugs, rifles and extortion.

Davis said: “Today’s actions will cause a great setback for Rancho San Pedro and the Mexican mafia emperors, and will lead to safer streets for the inhabitants of San Pedro,” Davis said.

Among the 13 persons arrested on Tuesday, eight at the federal level and five locally by the Los Angeles County Prosecutor’s Office.
