DENVER (KDVR) – One adult man is dead and another is in custody after a single-vehicle rollover crash in Aurora just after midnight Saturday.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:45 a.m. west of the intersection of East Alameda Parkway and South Chambers Road, according to the Aurora Police Department.
APD said the vehicle, identified as a BMW sedan, was racing down the street east on Alameda from Sable when the driver, identified as 19-year-old Edwin Rosales Sandoval, failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing the vehicle to strike a grocery store sign and roll over.
Rosales Sandoval, of Denver, and a 17-year-old female passenger were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. A third passenger in the car, an adult male, died at the scene.
APD said it determined that Rosales-Sandoval was driving under the influence at the time of the accident, in addition to allegedly driving on a revoked license for a prior drunk driving offense.
Rosales Sandoval was booked into the Aurora Municipal Detention Center on charges of vehicular homicide, reckless driving, driving under the influence and driving while driver’s license revoked, police said.
